A very short long week

III

You didn't know about it
but even yesterday
there was still a house in the future 
waiting for us to move in
with many wide open windows

there were children,  
we had children
and we had a lot of friendly words for each other
lots of light and long drives 
and a playful waking up
before the children invaded our bedroom

there used to be a lot of sand in the children's shoes 
in the future
and some salt water from the ocean
and they loved to,
we all loved to listen to you reading fairy tales


and today 
there is only a grey picture  
of some café 
where in the new version of the future
we might have a cup of tea together
maybe once or twice
and maybe 
an unimportant phone conversation
in a few years
